Q.: Do fCoder Image Converters support files with LZW compression?

A.: Yes. fCoder Image Converters support GIF and TIFF files with LZW compression.
fCoder has secured a license with Unisys Corporation to use its patented LZW compression technology in the TIFF and GIF image file formats. This license covers the demo, evaluation and licensed/registered versions of fCoder's software. By using fCoder products you are assured of using a product that is in compliance with Unisys' LZW patent.
You may create GIF and TIFF images using a registered copy of fCoder product. You may then post those images on a web page. According to Mark Starr, General Patent and Technology Counsel for Unisys, if the GIFs on your Web site were created with software that is licensed by Unisys, your use is legal.

Q.: Is it possible to use Universal Document Converter in batch mode?

A.: UDC is a virtual printer software. It does not open any documents for converting. UDC wraps data stream sent to printer by document viewer or editor and converts this data into image file. If your document editor supports batch printing, you can run it and print documents to image files in batch mode.
